A design Agency in London, After the Flood, asked me to create three vintage style illustrations for Robot Life Survey projects. The task was to visualise robotic designs as if they were living creatures. Max Gadney, the director of After the Flood, revealed that the idea of these strange fantastical creatures was brought up to show how the western explorers discovered new species in new habitats for the first time in the past.
I accepted this exceptional challenge of illustrating a famous big dog, kilobots and nano UAV robots: non-organic subjects with intricate structures, geometric elements, straight lines and regular shapes as if they are living animals solely with watercolour.
What the client says..
Eunike Nugroho is a very talented artist and highly professional in communication, in helping agree the brief and meeting the deadline. This was not a surprise as she kept us informed of progress all the way through the project that we always knew its status. Eunike is a gifted artist who can visualise many different subjects. The best thing about her was her ability to independently contribute to the work and how she visualises the subjects in the ways that met our brief to give a fantastic look of the final artwork. She’s excellent – you should work with her.
